Backup Exec 15 - move Exchange 2003 accounts to Exchange 2010 server?

Hello

We might gonna migrate approx. 30 users from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. This is not supported directly by Microsoft, and considering it is only 30 users doing it manually will suffice (exporting PST from users Outlook and importing to new Exchange server).

However, I am wondering if it is possible to this with Backup Exec 2015? Taking a backup of a complete (or actually preferably selected users accounts) Exchange 2003 storage group, and restoring is as PST files or a storage group for Exchange 2010?

I think the upgrade path from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 is supported.

You can't perform an in-place upgrade from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. However, you can install an Exchange 2010 server into the existing Exchange organization, and then move the Exchange resources, such as mailboxes, public folders, and connectors to Exchange 2010.

Because of limitations between different versions of Exchange you cannot restore Exchange data from one version of Exchange back into to a differnet versions of Exchange. These are Microsoft limitations not ours -  so no you cannot do it with Backup Exec (not the Backup Exec is in any way designed as a Migration product anyway)

Really you should be looking at Microsoft information for how to migrate mailboxes etc betwen diffrent Exchange server versions - as they usually have tools or information on their recommended methods
