Backup Exec 16 fails to do VM backup, which is a part of Windows Fail over Cluster

We're having an issue with BE16 that it fails to backup VMs, which are members of a Windows Failover Cluster. Other VMs are getting backed up fine. BE is updated with latest updates and hot fixes.

Is it a known issue? Or else am I missing something in configuration?

Thanks

What is the exact error in job log? Are you backing up windows VM's using hyper-v agent?

Thanks and Regards,

Backup Exec virtual agents do not support distributed environments that are virtualized in that we only have the ability to snap one VM at a time so cannot create and/or synchronize snapshots if more than one VM (or  shared disk between VMs) is involved.

This means

- File server Failover clusters

- SQL Server Clusters

- Exchange DAGS

- Sharepoint Farms

etc

are not fully suported for virtual agent backups and should be backed up using traditional agent operations.

Note: for VM's would it be better to use the clustering/HA/failover mechanisms that are part of  the hypervisor host environment and not try to cluster inside the Virtual environment itself?
