I've had this same issue on two different servers both with BE 20. One had Server 2012, and my new server is 2016. Both of them were backing up to a NAS. I reformatted the drive when I built my new server, and the exact same issue as before. Backup sets show expired, but will not automatically delete. If I select them and select "expire," they disappear but the space is never reclaimed on the disk. I had this issue with BE 20.1, 20.2, and now 20.3. If I run a Inventory and Catalog, the Inventory runs and the expired backup sets reappear. Then the job fails during the catalog portion, with the error below. Telling me to do an Inventory and Catalog again, and endless loop. I tried rebooting my server, and there are no other updates available. Also these backup job's expired over a month ago.
