Backup Exec 2010 R2 SLOW job rate

scunningham12

I'm trying to backup our firewall log directory on a remote server and the job rate runs at 1MB a minute.  I have many other jobs that don't have this problem whatsoever and am getting no error messages so I'm not sure what to try.  I'm using Advanced Open File to no avail.

The directory I'm backing up is our Checkpoint firewall log directory.

Thanks!

Steve

I've had the same problem once, what i did was remove the agent restart, then install the Backup agent and restart server again.

Try to copy the logs to backup server using copy/paste, what is the job rate.

if it's a firewall, try to check thru the logs for communication problems.

Hi,

For sure you have a communication problem, try to check on checkpoint logs for communication problems.

Once, i've had that problem, not on a firewall server, and the sollution was to unistall BE Agent, reboot, install BE Agent, reboot... and everything goes fine.

For testing, just make a firewall rule saying checkpoin->Backup server ANY, and see what happens.

cheers

I have have this same type of slowness.  When I added AV exclusions on the server being backed up i saw some improvement.

I you are using macfee search their website for the VirusScan Enterprise Exclusions (master article).

Forgot this AV exclusion.

Added the Anti-virus scanning exclusion for real time scanning and *.vsp

Per each drive letter: c:\Backup Exec AOFO Store\*.*
