Hi,
We are in the need of following Backup Exec agents
- Agent for Windows systems
- Agent for VMWare Infrastructure
The problem is that we currently have backup exec 2010 R2 quickstart edition which doesn't support any agents. Which backup exec 2010 version we should upgrade to? Should we get competitive upgarde licenses for the upgrade version and the agents? or will it be subscription licenses?
I would appreciate if you anyone here can guide me to the right direction.
Thank you.

Hi,
You should look at upgrading to Backup Exec 2010 R3 which was the last version (if you're not considering installing BE 2012).
You can get it on the link below:
http://trialware.norton.com/files/fc/Backup_Exec_2010_13.0.5204_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual_DVD.iso
Then contact either Symantec's licensing department or a reseller to organise the correct licenses. You'd need a media server license and your agents as you mentioned above.
Thanks!
