Please refer to the perfomance tuning guide. Performance/Job Rate would depend on a few factors hence difficult to compare with limited information.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3276

In the above case for the virtual server backup it would also depend how you are backing up the virtual machine. Is it a backup using RAWS/SAN/NBD

You can also take a look at this AVVI Performance tuning technote if using the AVVI option to backup Virtual Machines http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH185691

I am using both AVVI and RAWS to backup.

As I said it will still depend on various factor. You can go through that guide. At the same time try those registries for AVVI performance improvement. There cannot be a definitive answer to this question

I am getting 384GB backed up in 10 hours (with verification). This looks pretty slower. By following guide I have verified couple of things and they look just fine. Just try to get an idea if doing 384 GB backup in 10 hours is normal.

Whats the backup and Verify Job Rate you get. You can check this by opening the Job Log and then against each resource that was backed up you will find the Job Rate ( Backup Set Summary and Verify Set Summary)
