Backup Exec 2010 R3 and SQL Server 2012

We are running Backup Exec 2010 R3.  We would like to backup our SQL Server 2012 databases.  We have SQL Server Agent licensed.  I have installed the remote agent on the SQL Server 2012 server.  I noticed when selecting what to backup The Microsoft SQL Server does not appear.  Do I have to upgrade to Backup Exec 2012?  Thank you!

Backup Exec 2010 R3 does not support backup of SQL 2012 databases. 

SQL 2012 is supported with BE 2012. Refer to SCL of BE 2010 and BE 2012 for details:
