Backup Exec 2010 R3

Hallo.

Ich bin ziemlich neu bei Backup Exec 2010 R3. Ich bräuchte dringend eine "Best Practise" zum Thema "TAPE CHECKOUT".

Sprich:

Ich möchte einmal die Woche die Tapes auschecken und in den Safe legen, damit ich immer einen Backupsetz "extern" habe.

The easiest way would be to open your library and remove the tapes that you are bring off-site.

If you want to be sophisticated, then set up vault rules for your media set and then use the vault wizard to move the tapes to and from the vault.

Would it be possible that Backup Exec send an E-Mail with the Vautling Content (Tapes to checkin/checkout) like in TSM Manager?

I don't think BE generates pick lists.  You can schedule a job to move the media to the vault and it will export the tapes and notify the mail recepients.  There are more details in the Admin Guide starting from page 250.

I will try this.
But the User do not know when he have to put the Tapes back into the Library. In TSM you will get an Mail.
There should be an solution.

If you need this feature, then you can post it in the Ideas section.  If enough users vote for it, it might get implemented in some future release of BE.
