Backup Exec 2010 R3

Hi there,

We are using Backup Exec 2010 R3. Every day one of our backups sticks on snapshot processing.

Usually we just stop the services and the backup fails but the data has backed up.

Whenever I checked the job activity it's always stuck on a particular source, and a particular directory.

Can anyone point me int he right direction towards getting this solved?

Hi,

On the server in question, open up a command prompt and type: vssadmin list writers

Any writers not listed as Stable and running are in error. Normally a server restart will fix this issue.

Also check that there is enough disk space available on that server.

Are you able to backup the particular directory in a separate job ?

Do ensure AOFO is enabled and set to use the MS shadow copy provider.

Check the Application Logs of the event viewer for any vss / volsnap errors / warnings as well.
