Backup Exec 2010 Server os upgrdation from windows 2003 32 bit to Windows Server 2008 32 bit

We are going to upgrade our backup exec  2010 R3 server operating system from Windows 2003 SP2 32 bit version to Windows 2008 32 bit version.

Please suppgest the upgrade procedure.

This should be a straight forward upgrade like anyother OS upgrade. Having said this, perform a backup of the Backup Exec data and catalogs folder in case something doesnot happen correctly.

NOTE: Backup Exec (BE) is only supported to migrate or move BE to and from the same Windows OS version, whilst it may still be possible to migrate with different operating systems, Symantec can only offer reasonable effort support for this type of migration

 

However, Jaydeep is absolutely right and you should run into very much if any issue... below please find a link to documentation for your review and record

Just to let you know I have done multiple upgrades from Server 2003 R2 to Windows Server 2008 R2, and as long as you keep the server name and IP address the same, and have thosemcopies of the Data and Catalogs folders you will be OK.
