Backup Exec 2010 Trial - Without Sharepoint Agent feature enabled

Currently testing Backup Exec 2010 on eval version. For internal reason we would like to backup a Sharepoint SQL DB using the SQL agent instead of the SharePoint Agent. However in trial version this is enabled and unable to test the backing up of the Sharepoint SQL DB using SQL Agent as it is grey out and comment note says to use Sharepoint Agent. Is there anyone to get around this? Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

I think that in this case you need to backup your Sharepoint farm.
I included 1 article and a link to the Admin Guide for Backup Exec 2010...

Hi,

You can enable just about any agent in trial mode for 60 days.
Have you tried enabling the SQL agent?

Laters!

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your response. SQL Agent is enable, however so is SharePoint. Because Backup Exec sees the SQL DB as a Sharepoint SQL DB it will only allow Backup Exec to backup that SQL DB using the Sharepoint Agent and will not allow you to select as a normal SQL DB.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
