Backup Exec 2010, exclude files older than.

Hi,

Is there a way of configuring Backup Exec 2010 to skip files that were created more than 6 days from when the backup runs? In the include/exclusion selection, I don't see an option for this, only to exclude files in a specific date range. It's for a regular weekly backup to tape job, where we don't want to backup files not created that week. Otherwise, the tape sometimes runs out of space.

Many thanks.

Is incremental backup method not helpful for you?

If you want to exclude files, you can do it by excluding files not accessed in XX days option in the "Include/Exclude" button in the selection window.

Please take a complete backup first, and then add the exclusion in the selection to exclude files not accessed in 6 days. In the path section please add \\*\*\** and in file section type *.* . Please check the attached screenshot.

Or you can create a Policy with a "Full" backup template, and a "Working set" backup template with file accessed in 6 days. Associate it with a selection list. In this method, there is no need to add exclusion in the selection. Run the Full backup at first and the Working set job weekly. It will be good to run full backups in regular interval.

Please test these options and check in the restore selections and see whether it satisfy your requirement.
