Backup Exec 2010R3 Jobs Now failing with Error Code E0000602

Beginning on 1-14-15 BE daily backup jobs started to fail, although no hardware changes had been made to our enviroment, and no modifications made to the backup job.  As suggested in some of the forum threads I disabled BE services and ran CatRebuildIndex.exe, then restarted services, but the error persisted.  Then, also as suggested, I disabled BE services, renamed the Catalog folder to force the create of a new one, ran CatRebuildIndex.exe, then restarted services, but the error continues to persist. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on?  Oddly enough, the Saturday job has run successfully once during this period.

Hello,

Make sure all of your Live updates are installed along with the updated agent pushed out to your remote servers.

also verify that all the drivers and firmware are updated.

see: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH38608

Thanks Imosla,

Live Update shows as up-to-date for both the local and remote installations.  Also, I should have commented that we are backing up to disk, not tape, and have no duplicate jobs.

Have you tried recreating your job?  Also check out the following article to help troubleshoot. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH130540

Is there any way to save the selections for the job?  Recreating it from scratch will be very messy.  Worst case, I take a screen shot of it first.

You can check out RahulG post here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/export-selection-lists-backup-exec-2010-r2
Please note: Symantec discourages anyone from manually querying the BEDB themselves .

Thanks Imosla, that's really going to help simplify the process.

Update: recreating the job still resulted in the same error message, "ODBC access error. Possible lost connection to database or unsuccessful access to catalog index in the database."

Any ideas?

Thanks,
