How to reset Backup Exec 2012 Database?

How to uninstall Backup exec 2012 and shell i need to delete the Symantec folder after uninstalll it?

Hi If you want to remove or uninstall symantec ,you can do it from add remove programs on wi2003 and programs and features on win2008 But why do you want to uninstall BE2012? Thanks

Using BEutility.exe you may reload database from base, its as good as blank BE database.

As suggested earlier you may uninstall BE from Add remove programs.

There is no clean up utility within BE. You may search for Windows cleanup utility on google.

Hi No for backupexec there is no such utility like SEP which can do a clean wipe.Though add remove programs should help you to uninstall backupexec and SQL instance associated with it completely. Thanks

However most of the things are same throughout all versions of BE so you may give a try

Hi Why you want to uninstall backupexec manually you have any issues during uninstall of it from add remove programs? If not please uninstall it from add remove programs only, also please check link below recommended by symantec employee do it https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/uninstalling-backup-exec-windows-servers-11d In above link steps given would be valid for all version from BE11d and after. As others have said, Symantec does not provide a programatic method to uninstall BE2012 from a server like SEP Clean Wipe.

Since the challenges of BE2012 have begun, we have done a complete reinstall of BE2012 many times, we believe that the easiest and fastest way is to reformat the system and reinstall Windows Server 2008 R2 and then BE2012...

Not only is this method easy and fast (the older versions of Windows Server take a bit longer), but you know when you finish that there is NOTHING left over from the previous install that can mess with your new system.

YMMV, but a complete bare-metal install works well for us.
