Hi,

I would like to know if you can search for writable tapes that are not in the tape drive. I am pretty sure this is already been implemented to create scripts to generate reports of what tapes to order for that week etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can use the BEMCLI cmdlet, Get-BEMedia to retrieve the media objects and then filter the objects to get the report that you want.

There is no option for Overwrite Protection Period so you can search for "Overwritable"

OPP is a property of the media set, not the media.  You might want to look at the Protected Until propery.
