Backup Exec 2012 / RDX overwrite issue

Hello all,

Having an issue with Backup Exec 2012 V14 1798 and RDX devices.

We have backup job set that takes a full back up every day to an RDX cartage, there are 5 cartage for 5 full back ups with an Expiration setting of 1 day which I understand it gets from the media set you specify when making the job (It uses the overwrite setting).

The issue we are having in the cleaning down of old images on the RDX,  the C and D drivers are overwritten and do clean them self’s down so there is all every 1 image of each drive on the RDX cartage but the System State, Mailbox Database and Public Folder Database are not overwriting them self’s even though the expiration  dates have expired and it is starting to fill the RDX cartages up.

that does fit, is there are word on a fix; we have a alot of customers on Backup Exec 2012 with RDX's and cleaning them down by hand is not really practical in our situation.

or is there a way to script back up exec to format the media before the job runs?

This issue is still under investigation ( and the only workaround as of yet is listed in the KB ) & would recommend you to contact support with the above mentioned KB article...thanks.
