Backup Exec 2012 / System Recovery 2013 OS upgrade to Server 2008 R2

Hi,

We have Backup Exec 2012 and System Recovery 2013 installed on a server with Server 2003 Standard 32bit installed. We want to upgrade the server to Server 2008 R2 and were thinking of upgarding over the top of 2003, as this is 32bit to 64bit, will Backup Exec and System Recovery still work or will they need reinstalling?  We're a small company so to set up the jobs again wouldn't be the end of the world if we need to but obviously I'd rather avoid it if possible.

Any help or advice would be great.

Cheers,

Ben.

Hi,

No, it will work. Just make sure you grab copies of the Data/Catalogs folders for BE 2012, and whatever folders/files you require for SSR. This will allow you to rollback manually if you run into issues during the OS upgrade.

I've done this on a number of occassions and it worked well.

Thanks!
