Backup Exec 2014 de-dupe, more cores, or faster cores?

Hi - With the release of BE 2014 - and the 'faster' de-dupe (which I assume is built on the same revised PureDisk engine that is also now embedded in NetBackup v7.6.0.x MSDP, and NetBackup Appliance NB5230 v2.6.0.x) - I have a question re number of CPU cores vs. speed of the cores...

I have seen older posts, and older TNs that state that the requirement for BE 2010 de-dupe was a minimum of a quad core core processor or two dual core processors - but those docs and posts are quite old.

The BE 2014 Admin Guide, on page 801, states that upto 64TB of stored de-duplicated is now supported, and also states that 8 CPU cores are required if one wants to max out to 64TB of stored de-duplicated data.

My questions are:

1) Would sixteen CPU cores be of any additional benefit when storing 64TB of de-duplicated data?

2) Are fewer but faster CPU cores preferred over more but slower CPU cores?

Thanks.

Dave.
