Backup Exec 2014 multiple drives to single BKF file

Sorry if this has been posted, but cannot find a solution or definitive information from anywhere.

We have just installed backup Exec 2014, previously we used BE 2010.  At present we have emulated our old strategy, to get things moving quickly, but will be revamping the backup strategy over the next few months.

Previously we had a job that would take data from multiple drives in a server

Server 1   H           Directory

               J            Directory1

               K           Directory1     etc

and the job that run would backup data from all of these locations and save it in an B2D file on another location

B2D0000345.bkf

Now BE2014 has been installed we have set up the jobs and run a weeks worth of testing and the backups run fine with the exception that we get a B2d per media instance.

Server1   H          Directory

             J           Directory

             K          Directory

gives the output of

B2D0000345.bkf

B2D0000346.bkf

B2D0000347.bkf   etc

The Storage is configured to allow enough space for a single bkf to have all the information in, yet it still appears that the media is creating 1  bkf file per drive.

So the question is.--- Is this a new "feature" of Backup Exec 2014 ?  Or can BE2014 be configured to allow all different drives to write / append to the same b2d.bkf file ??

From BE 2012 onwards, each resource that is backed up will start on a new .bkf file.  You cannot append to a disk media.  This is by design and cannot be changed.

You should not be managing .bkf files and there is no need to.  Let BE do its job.
