Backup Exec 8.6 Exchange Agent Query

We are currently using Backup Exec 8.6 and Exchange Agent 5.5 on a windows 2000 server runing exchange server 2000.
After looking into a problem with the exchange backup problems, we've found that we need the Exchange Agent for exchange 2000.

Anybody know if you can you use the 8.5 Exchange Agent for backing this server up (information store and mailboxes)

AFAIK, Veritas no longer sells even v9, much less v8

You can try Ebay or the other Auction sites, and ISellSurplus.com often has older BackupExec serials for sale

Thanks for the response.

I have an opportunity to buy a version 8.5 agent, but can't find any documentation as to its compatability, so any help is greatfully received.

The Exchange 2000 license will work for both 8.5 and 8.6.
