Backup Exec 9.0 Catalogue error

Hi,

I have a Windows 2003 Small Business Server running backup exec 9.0. It appears the server crashed and not sure if this was result of backup exec or another process. But as result now the jobs have disappeared and we are receiving the following error within backup exec ODBC access error. Possible lost connection to database or unsuccessful access to catalogue index in the database. In the Windows event log I receive event id 34338 backup odbc access error. Possible lost connection to database or unsuccessful access to catalogue index in the database.

I can't find any information on how to resolve this issue. Has anyone else come across this problem and resolution?

Thanks for your help.

Regards

JC

I would suggest a repair install, but since v9.1 is a free upgrade try that instead

Go to the downloads page at

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/downloads.jsp?pid=15047

and filter for

v9.1

Install

Patch

Thanks for the advice. I stopped the backup exec services then restarted the backup database service. The backup database then came back online. Ran a test backup. All ok.
