Backup Exec 9.1 and autoloader

 Hello,
I have just purchased a PowerVault 122T tape autoloader that connects to a Windows 2000 server running Backup Exec 9.1. My question is, how do I get Backup Exec to interface with the powervault? It shows up in the console with our other tape drive as just another tape drive. Is that correct, or should it be under robotic libraries? Is Backup Execsupposed to be aware of the autoloader or is that handled by the device itself?

Thanks
Harald

 Hi Harald,
Run the Backup Exec Tape Device Driver Install but before that try to auto-install the driver:

Also, checkout the following links:

The DDS-4 Autoloader I used just showed up as 1 tape drive and the Autoloader took care of allocating tapes, etc.

I uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers for the autoloader and Backup Exec now shows it as a robotic library.

Thanks
