Backup Exec 9.1 on Windows NT 4 Server

 Hi,

I have just installed backup exec 9.1 on one of our Windows NT servers. The BACKUP EXEC SERVER service will not start (beserver.exe). It generates a message saying

"The instruction at "0x10023798" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

Click OK to terminate the application"

After clicking OK, the service fails and stops running.

Any help would be great.

Hi,
Check you error logs, but it sounds like a hard drive issue at first. Run a chkdsk -r. Also if you have your server diagnostic tools, scan your hard drive.
Any other messages like this before installing the backup?
