Backup Exec 9.1 with a 2010 Remote Agent?

Guys,

In our support environment we have recently discovered a 9.1 server backing up a remote machine that has the 2010 remote agent installed. (Windows 2008 R2)

I presume this will not work? We are receiving the below error from our 9.1 server:

Access is denied to Remote Agent.  Check the login account for the specified device.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Thanks.

The media server (where BE is installed) 's version should match the version of the Remote Agent.

Backup Exec 9.1 will not be able to detect the Remote agent of Backup Exec 2010. So this will surely not work. If you want to backup that remote machine then you will have to uninstall the REmote agent of BE 2010 and install the Remote Agent of Backup Exec 9.1.

Thanks,

I thought that was the case. Thanks for the clarity.
