Backup Exec Agent 2010 R2 with Backup Exec 2012

Hi,

based on this article i have a question in generally:

We still use two different Backup-Exec Versions (2010 R2 and 2012 Version 14.0) on two different servers.

Now we want´s to move existing Backups for some servers with 2010 R2 Agent to the BE 2012-Server.

In generally, is this possible?

Is it still possible to use servers with upgraded to BE Agent 2012 with the old BE 2010 Backup Solution?

Hi,

1. BE 2010 agents can be used with a BE 2012 media server for the purpose of rolling upgrades.

2. BE 2012 agents cannot be used with a BE 2010 media server at all.

3. You can upgrade the BE 2010 agents to BE 2012 agents by push-installing this from the BE 2012 media server. This will also establish the required trust.
