Hi,

On Application agents proposed in projects where those applications are unknown to us, in such cases we can only take the backup using windows agent. Correct me if i am wrong, please;

The Agent for Applications & Databases is only for these supported version of apps/dbs (Active Directory, MS SQL, Exchange, Sharepoint, Lotus, Oracle and Enterprise Vault)

These agents allow you to run an online/hot backup of these apps/DBs. If you are using any other application/DB, it may be possible to back them using the regular windows agent, however they it may be an offline/cold backup meaning the application services may have to be stopped allowing BE to access them.

Note that certain file extensions are automatically excluded from backups by AFE, so you may not be able to backup the application files even if you stopped the application
