Backup Exec Backup-to-Disk Drive Runs out of Space

Here is a solution we have for backup Exec 2010 not removing old backups.

1)  Verify that your OPP settings are correct for however long you need to keep data on disk

2)  Make sure that your B2D jobs are all overwrite.  Do not use append

3)  From Tools\Options\Media Management  verify that "use overwriteable media in the target media set before scratch media" is selected

When you click on All Media, you do not see the B2D folder.  You can only see the B2D folder in the Devices tab.  If you have targeted the correct media set in your job, the resultant backup media will be associated with the targeted media set.
