Backup Exec Duplication disk to disk size question

Hello,

I created a duplication job that starts after another job is complete. The total size of the master backup is 544 GB with software compression turned on (it backups to a RAID 5 array)
The duplication job works fine but i am a bit worried because it reports a size significantly lower than the master job (about 381 GB) It uses a single RAID 0 disk as its destination.
No compression set on the duplication job

Any idea of what is causing that ?

I use BE12.5 SP3

Maybe you have hardware compression enabled on the secondary tape drive?

Another possibility could be that one entry in the report you are looking at, reflects the actual amount of data versus the amount of data after it's compressed.
