Backup Exec Extremely Slow Restores

Hi

My company are running Backup Exec 2012 14.0 Rev. 1798. It sits on a physical mahcine. The issue we are having is that when we do a restore, from Tape, Disk or iSCSI it takes around 45 minutes before any  data transfering begins. It does'nt matter if the file is 1kb or 200gb.
The job's status during this time of no transferring is "Running"

Has anyone else encountered this or have a possible solution?

Many Thanks

A couple of questions. Was the data backed up with version 2012 or was it backed up with a previous version of Backup Exec ? What type of data is this , for example, flat file/folder data, Exchange data, SQL data, etc ?

Does the restore job ultamately succeed ?

The data was backed up by this version of Backup Exec. The data is just files and folders and the files do eventually restore but it does not start transferring until after 45 minuntes of it just sitting there and appearing to do nothing.

I have tried removing the catalogs and reinventorying and cataloging but nothing appears to help.

I using exec 16, there is similar speed problem it took about 3 hours to recover 10Gb from machine
