Dear Team,

We have a custumer who need to install Backup Exec 2010, and they need to configure  with the scenario:

  1. Installation to the file server
  2. Backup to the TAPEDRIVE
  3. Backup to the DAS Server
  4. Deduplication Option
  5. Recovery system Agent
  6. Backup Client Option

The Question is?

  • What product should they use for the Backup Exec?
  • What licence they'll have?
  • Is there any articel or link for the best configuration for those scenario above?

Thanks and regard

Hi,

So they'll need the following:

1. 1 x Media server license for Backup Exec 2010 R3.

2. 1 x Remote agent for Windows Servers for the DAS server (unless BE is being installed on this server in which case #1. above covers this).

3. 1 x Deduplication agent.

4. x-amount of RAWS agents for any remote agents NOT running an application like Exchange, in which case the Exchange agent includes a RAWS agent.

The link below is for Backup Exec's best practices. You can click on whichever link you require information on:

Thanks!
