Hi All,

I have tape library with 24 Tapes, LTO5.

BE Version 2012 .

Data with Full Size Daily 1.5 TB., servers: Exchange, File Server, SQL server.

one of the main requirments is : offsite one Tape Daily for all Jobs in one Tape.

Optional: Activate Encryption.

What is the best bractice, best policies configuration?

Hi,

Policies don't exist in Backup Exec 2012 anymore...not sure if they are making a return in BE 2012 R2 or not.

If all your backups fit onto 1 tape, make sure your Append/OPP settings are correct to prevent the tape being accidentally overwritten, and then remove it from the drive. Store it elsewhere and you have your offsite configuration.

I mean Job :), creation daily Jobs for all servers fit on one Tape, but what is the best bractice to force BE to use one Tape daily, you know that I will have more than one tape in the Daily pool media set, and may the be use tape X for the job1 and Tap Y for the job2 ,...etc.
