Backup Exec Restore to a Different Location

Pootytang
Level 3

Greetings,

I'm trying to restore data to a different location than the source. It's a top level folder under a network share, such as \\server\share\RestoreFolder. The problem is, Backup Exec creates the top level folder within RestoreFolder when it should be the top level folder, not another folder within, i.e. \\server\share\RestoreFolder\RestoreFolder.

I've tried specifiying the restore location Drive as \\server\share and "." in the Path field as well as "\" yet both fail either by not being found or simply hanging. Blank is not accepted.

How is this accomplished?

Thanks in advance.

Set Drive as \\ServerName\Share
Path as \

in to a different location section of restore wizard.

You can browse and set the new path where you want to restore. Check how it goes. Should work, I tested it and it does.
