Backup Exec - SQL Agent Backups

Hello, just wanted confirmation on something and ultimately best practice.

If you want to backup a SQL server and are licensed to use the SQL agent, and select to use the 'Microsoft SQL Server' option in the selection list, which SQL files are you safe to remove from the selection list under the MSSQL\DATA folder for that server is it just the MDF and LDF files?

Thanks

Hi,

BE's Active File Exclusion would automatically ignore the *.mdf and *.ldf files as things go.

You can put them in as exclusions or just let AFE do it's job.

Thanks!

Cool if AFE does the job then thats cool - be good if it actively greyed out those files in the selection list viewer so you knew that.
