Hello All,

I'm getting issue about Backup Exec Server 2012 version 14.0 rev. 1798 (64-bit), from my customer. The BE Server have failed to backup, then showing error code E0009B61.

And then, it showing alert is reported in the Event Viewer's Application Log with Event ID 58060  : "Backup Exec Alert : Please insert media into the portal." . When I click for this solution, I get the solution in the following article regarding this :  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH23207

The solution on the article is : Place the tape requested into the robotic library portal and respond to the alert in Backup Exec.

But, I don't know where the place of the tape and how to place the tape into the robotic library portal? What must I do to solve this problem?

Note : the pc machine is Windows Server 2012 Datacenter

One other thing, Windows Server 2012 is not supported with Backup Exec as of yet & will be in the near future.

Hi,

You have to configure a mailslot on the library first (check your library manufacturer's documentation on how to do so), and once done, create an Import job in BE. This will prompt you to put the tape into the mail slot (assuming you have 1), which then pulls it into a free slot in the library. You need to have a free slot in the library otherwise export a tape first before importing.

Check the TN below:

Thanks!

What it's right?
Because on the pc machine  is really using Windows Server 2012 Datacenter, and then have installed Backup Exec Server 2012 successfully. But during the last 11 days, it is always failed job to backing up?

As this OS is not supported, Support would not be formally able to troubleshoot your issue as its an unsupported config. You may be interested in the Beta program for the service pack which will support this new OS ¬ https://symbeta.symantec.com/callout/?callid=52801D5ABA034CC18A15C8E8E5CB2F99

Your problem is caused by the lack of overwritable tapes.  Adjust the OPP of the tape media set and make sure that you have enough overwritable tapes BEFORE the start of the job.
