Backup Exec Server service stops before backup runs.

Hello,

I'm running Backup Exec 11.0d 7170 on Windows server 2003 std.

I have the following problem. I have a daily backup running every night at 3.30.

But before the backup starts, the Backup Exec Server service has the state stopped in the Windows services overview.

There are no errors in the logfiles. So what could cause this problem ?

If you run a manual backup job (even if it is one file)

I assume the same thing is happening?

Are you backing up this local server, or is it a remote backup?

Well a manual backup works just fine. It's only when running a scheduled backup.

It is the local server yes and 1 remote server.

But like I said, running the backup manualy is working just fine.

Are your servers IPLing (scheduled to reboot) before the backup?

If so, any chance the services are not starting on their own?

Or any other scheduled tasks running on the backup server that might be messing with

the services during the night?

(Not sure.. I'm just reaching for something here...)

That was the first thing I checked. No scheduled reboots, or other programs running at the same time. Only the scheduled backup.
