Hi

Please open services for windows and check which service is not starting. Also ensure Sql service for bkupexec is up and running and if not start the services and then try to start other services and check

Thanks

The SQL Server Service is Running Fine ... it is a standalone full version of SQL SErver,. I can connect to it using SQL's mgmt console and i am able to see the database (BEDB) created by BE 2012

and the user account that i used to run the all BE service is assigned with sysadmin role in my SQL 2k8 R2.

to double confirmed the access right I even manually create the user role mapping of DBO and data/reader/writer right to BEDB...

what am i missing here.

When you install BE with the default SQL express instance than BE creates BKUPEXEC

instance to store BE database. Since you are using a full version of SQL the service is replace

by MSSQLSERVER service.

hmm i see .. but I am pretty sure my sql server is running ...

i can even login to it and assign user login and create databases ...

i read some where that one way is to uninstall the BE and reinstall with the SQL server express instance.

I am doubtful of that solutions.

What service pack are you using for your SQL Server 2008 R2?  If it is SP2, it is not currently supported.  See the SCL below

BE 2012 SCL

yes I am using win2k8 R2 with SP1 and SP2 applied...

so I haev to switch to sql express ? will that impact my full verison somehow ?

Its better to you SQL express instead of a full version. There will be no impact on the full version if

you use SQL express instance.

Install your BE using the default SQL Express database.  There will be no impact on your BE functiionality.

Deng it.... after installation with SQL SErver Express ... BackupExec Server give internal error ...

The Backup Exec Server Service did not start.  An internal error (-1) occurred in object 51.

i did a search on symantec.com ... and i came across this KB .. .i followed the instruction and i discovered that the Restric access option in SQLExpress is already set to multi users ....

i even went on a step further to assign the user account that run BE2012 server to be the sysadmin ... but it is still not working.

I am still unable to start the BackupExec Server ...
