1) BE does not support SAP.  If you are backing up the underlying databases, do read my blog below

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/can-i-backup-sap-database-sql-or-oracle-agent

2) Replicating your DD devices is equivalent to copying backup sets.  This is not recommended.  See this document

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH176061

You should share your DD devices between the remote and local media servers, and then duplicate the backup sets from one DD to the other.  You would need CASO which is part of ESO for this.

With this setup, then the media server in the local site would be able to access the backup sets at the remote site and thus use them to recover servers.

Thanks Pkh for the help ,

I got an idea for SAP Databases  for the 1st question

For the 2nd question : My primary backups are in primary DD and than I am using the copy backup sets to DR DD , I have already a Backup exec server at DR . As my understanding you were saying this is possible but we need CASO , what is CASO ?? Can I have a document how to recover a server in the DR if a server A goes offline in DC

regards

If not Backup exec, the same set up can be configured with Netbackup , if it is Netbackup whether replication from DC to DR and recovering the server A which went offline in DC ,can be recovered in DR is possible or not ? Please help me on the particular part ..

NBU should be able to do so, but direct these questions there instead.

Thanks!

CASO = Central Admin Server Option. There is a chapter in the Admin Guide which describes how it works. Also in the Admin Guide, there is another chapter on SDR which will help you do am automated recovery of your server. If you want to do a manual recovery, then see this document. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH212802
