Backup Exec VSS Provider + AD Error

Hi there,

I'm currently using BE2010 to backup my 2008 R2 Domain Controllers running on VMware.
I noticed that every time I quiesce a snapshot or trigger a VM backup, my DCs will show the following error:

lsass (468) Error -1023 (0xfffffc01) occurred while opening logfile c:\NTDS\edb.log.

The strange thing here is that I do not have any file on c:\NTDS, and never setup anything there. My NTDS and SYSVOL are hosted on separate drivers (e: and f:): E:\NTDS and F:\SYSVOL.
My AD is working great, and I have no consistency or checksum errors on the database. It seems like BEVSS provider is assuming C: drive all the time.
Backup using the agent works fine.

Any idea what can be the problem?

Hmm what's odd about that is that if we were expecting the NDTS location to be default - we would not expect it to be C:\NTDS as that is not the default.
