Hi,
In an effort to try and restore some faith in your product Backup Exec, can I humbly request that Symantec provides an update on the progress Windows Server 2012 R2 support, similiar to this post which was great:
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/what-going-backup-exec-2012-windows-server-2012
I'm not asking if it is supported (I know its not yet), please dont refer me to the SCL and please dont tell me Win Server 2012 R2 isn't released yet, the preview has however been available to you for a while now. Everyone knows this.
So please provide a similiar update to the above post on when it WILL be supported according to your current development plan. Feel free to put in all kinds of disclaimers about how you cant garantee anything, I'm sure the vast majority of IT professionals can understand that deadlines and release dates cant always kept.
In fact, Symantec promised us this already:
"Our goal is for the next major release of Backup Exec to support WS12R2. Over the next several weeks we will finalize scoping the changes required to support WS12R2. In August , we should be able to give a 6 month window for when you can expect the next BE."
-PackMatt73, Symantec Employee at 6th of July 2013
Thank you.
