Backup Exec does not list files in restore mode

Hi,

I configured backup exec to use my local server HDD to be the home directory for the backup files (bkf + cfg).

The backup seems to be running ok and finish with success. BKF files have 4GB of size.

When I try to restore files, with a restore job, I see all folders but no files !!!

Where did the files go?

I'll appritiate your help.

Some more details:

Windows 2008 R2 + all OS updates

Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 + all available updates

Thanks,

Michael

If your folders are under DSFR then they would not appear in the file backup. You need to backup the shadow copy component to back them up

Do ensure the date filters in the restore window are set appropriately.

Hi,

No DFSR and date filters are ok.

What should I do?

Restore a folder, redirect it to another location and see whether the files are present. Also, take a look at the job log to see whether the amount of data backed up is as expected

Have you checked the joblog of the backup job to see whether the amount of data backed up matches the source data and/or the restored data?  Also, were there any error messges in the joblog?
