Backup Exec version compatibility

Hi,

Can someone point me to a resource or tell me what the compatibility is regarding reading tapes written with previous versions of Backup Exec please ?

ie we are currently at Backup Exec 15, what is the lowest version of Backup Exec that can be supported ? (eg Backup Exec 2010 R2.....)

When we upgrade to Backup Exec 16, same question !

Nothing like this exists. You should be able to restore BE 2010 tapes with BE 16 as both write in MTF format. Thanks!

There is no restriction as to how far back a version can be for BE to read the backup set, be it on tape or disk.  However, the newer version of BE may not support some old technology so the backup set cannot be used.
