Backup Exec will not follow mount points, junction points, and symbolic links when the Simplified Disaster Recovery indicator is ON.

Getting the above error when trying to backup a windows File Server. HAs been working for months and suddenly started failing. Have rebooted the server, it worked for a week. Failed again, reinstalled backup exec agent and worked for one night and has now failed again.

Go to your job and turn off the Follow Symbolic Links option

Here's something you can try. Turn on detailed job logging under Backup Exec setting ->  Job Logs "Summary information, directories and files processed". Determine if the failure occurs in the same place each backup. If it does, then deselect it from your backup. If the backups become successful, then figure out what is in the directory or file that's causing the problem.
