Thanks for your reply. So snapshots are included but backing up templates is not possible?

No you cannot backup templates and snapshots . It get slected while building the catalog ,however it is not backedup up ..and its by design

As you can see in the link provided by VjWare, snapshots are included with the virtual machine.
