Backup Job Stuck in Backup Scan

Hi Everyone !

I need help. Yesterday all backup job (File servers, MS SQL, Exchange and etc..) on Deduplication folder stuck in Backup Scan operation. At the same time job on Backup to disk folder goes normal.

My Enviroment:

1) Windows server 2008 R2

2) Backup exec 2014 SP1 

3) One Deduplication folder (7 TB)

4) Backup to disk folder (10TB)

 

What i`m try:

1) Disable/ pause Deduplication folder;

2) Reboot server and services;

3) Recreate Job. When i`m change backup device from deduplication to backup to disk job run normal.

4) Repair/ Rebuild/ Check Database

5)  Change location Catalog and Job Log

6) Repair backup exec installation (when run install BE server i`m choise repair)

7) I`m try run restore some file from deduplication folder and restore goes normal,

8) All Hot Fix installed

You may have have lots of orphaned media in your dedup folder or some form of corruption in your dedup folder, unfortunately to get help for this may need a formal support case as the complexity of deduplication means it is difficult to assist via the forums.

Its bad news for me... How can i find this orphaned media or how can i fix my dedup folder.

Well, I fixed alot of dedup issues without symantec while they always advise a case anyway...I can understand that since it is a difficult subject but once you know how it works the most problems are easy to fix. BUT this is one of the things you just can't solve alone. You need a program called crchk to fix the corruption, this program is different per dedup version and only symantec can provide you the correct version.

Heh. So i need this program :) But how i can  get it ? Just call to Symantec and ask him for help ?

Yes you have to call them and make a case. They will fix it for you. But to do that I fear you need valid maintenance...

Would you run an inventory of the DeDupe storage and pls attach the adamm.log

Lastly, can you provide the results of

crstats.exe --verbose --convert-size output
