Backup Job is getting stuck on a file

Hi ,

I have a serious issue with BackupExec 2010 R3 getting "stuck" on jobs. The job runs and then gets to a point where the status is "running" but nothing is actually in progress. The job gets stuck on the same server in the selection list. I restarted the Backup Exec server but in vain.
Is there any way to skip this file while the job is running ?

Any help would be appreciated.

What resource is causing the problem?  You have to provide more details. Otherwise, open a support case with Symantec.

To ad to what pkh mentioned, if the job is being run on a Tape, is it full? Confirm from the Alerts tab if there are any alerts regarding a new tape. If the Backup is being targeted to a B2D is there enough space available on the Disk?

Hi,

I assume that Advanced Open File Option is turned on? If not, turn it on again and see if this affects it in any way.

The other option being that if that file is no longer needed in the backup, create an exception in your selection list for it.
