Backup Job will not append to tape (Autoloader)

I have BE 2014 running on Server 2008 with an IBM Autoloader. The job I am having issues with is a large job setup with two stages.

Same Server: Full Overwrite and an Append job.

I can run the Full Overwrite job and it will add about a 1TB to the LTO 5 tape. The tape shows 1.25TB free after it completes.

I then later try to run the Append Job with that same tape in the Autoloader and the job failes every time.

Error: No Appendable media could be mounted.

Final error: 0xe0000f16 - The operation failed to acquire the minimum number of drives and media needed.
Final error category: Job Errors
 

Media Set is set to:

Overwrite Protection Period: None - Infinite Do Not Allow Overwrite

Append Period: None - Infinite Append

Any help would be appreciated!

When a job is large that it spans across multiple tapes, then only the first tape can be appended and the rest of the tapes must be overwritable.

How have you actually setup the job ? Is it a full + incremental ?

Is the append job using the same media set or a different one - as both jobs would have to use the same media set (a tape cannot belong to two media sets and has to be overwritten when changing between media sets)
