Backup Microsoft SQL Server Express for Rockwell Automation

I am having difficulty configuring Backup Exec to backup my Microsoft SQL Express databases on multiple computers that are part of a Rockwell Automation software installation.  SA account is required and I don't know the password.

Does anyone have experience with this combination?

With SQL Server and not SQL Express, I would turn on Windows Authentication and then use a domain admin of to access the database

In BE 2014, the "sa" account is not required to backup the SQL DBs, however the BE account should have "sa" rights on the DBs.

If the BE account cannot be granted "sa" rights, then an alternative would be to use SQL native backups to dump the databases and have BE backup the .bak files directly.
