Backup Services Will not start after Live Update

On a client SBS2003 Server with Backup Exec 12 after Live update the following services will not start:

1) Backup Exec Server

2)Backup Exec Jpb Engine

3) Backup Exec DLO Administration Service

4) Baclup Exec Device & Media Service

5)Backup Exec Agent Browser

 

There are two errors in the event viewer

1st One :

The file "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Data\BEDB_dat.mdf" is compressed but does not reside in a read-only database or filegroup. The file must be decompressed.

 

2nd One:

The file "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Data\BEDB_dat.mdf" is compressed but does not reside in a read-only database or filegroup. The file must be decompressed.

I have no cluse has how to fix this

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Using Task Manager - Processes tab, see if there is a "LUGetUpdatesExe.exe" process running. If yes, end this process & retry to start the BE services.

IN addition to this, edit the properties of the drive which has Backup Exec installed ( default is C:\) & disable the option "Compress contents to save disk space"
