Backup VM Job successful with exeception

In backup exec 2012, backup VM job can be backed up to deduplication storage successfully but with exeception. The deduplication device has been disabled client side deduplication, is using server-side deduplication. I do not why the backup job warn that the client side deduplication is enabled for this job, but it could not be used. I cannot find any setting about client-side deduplicatio in the properties of backup job.

Do anyone know how to solve?

In BE 2012, by default the Deduplication storage is set for Client-side, some time even after it is disabled on the device, the job will still try client-side Deduplication resulting in giving exception in the job log. To resolve this, first set the job to use server-side and then disable the client-side option on the Deduplication storage under Devices.

You can never do client side deduplication of a VMWare VM because the actually process performing the data transfer part of the backup is the beremote.exe process on the Backup Server itself and we do not install a process on the ESX host. Hence for VMware jobs you should disable the use Client Side dedeup setting to avoid this message.

Hyper-V is slightly different in that the Hyper-V host does run a beremote process in it's own right.
