Backup account

Normally you shouldn't run backup with domain administrator because if you change the password on domain administrator the backup will not work or you will have to change password also in Backupexec.

So if you create a separate user to run backup with lets call it BEbackup,
must BEbackup have domain admin rights or
is it sufficient to run it as backup operator or which
type of right must this account have?

The account needs to have admin rights. If you just specify it with backup operator and domain users the BackupExec service won't start, and just gives an error when trying.

Any user that you want to use in order to backup and restore the minimum rights you need for that account is Domain Admin rights.
